Garmin Vivoactive smartwatch and fitness tracker now available to pre-order in Canada

Starting today, Canadians can pre-order Garmin’s latest smartwatch-turned-fitness tracker from Best Buy. Available from the big box retailer for $329.99, the Vivoactive HR is expected to ship on June 3rd.

Featuring a more attractive design than its predecessor, the Vivoactive is designed for anyone that wants the functionality of a smartwatch with all the bell and whistles of a high-end fitness tracker. Unlike the 2015 Vivoactive, this year’s model includes both a heart rate monitor and a on-board GPS chip, making it the ideal wearable for the more serious athletes out there.

It’s also not just for people who do on-land fitness activities; the Vivoactive is waterproof up to a depth of 50 metres, allowing it to track swimming, as well as the more usual assortment of activities like running and cycling.

Garmin says the Vivoactive can function continuously for eight days on a single charge, though turning on its GPS tracker significantly reduces battery life.
