Google shows new fitness tracker in Pixel 11 ad

Do you think this is a mistake, or an actual upcoming device?

A recent Google Pixel 11 ad may have subtly shown off a new device.

Basically, a Reddit user on the r/pixel_phones subreddit spotted a Google Pixel ad that shows off the recently released phones and wearables alongside a small, screen-equipped wearable fitness tracker that hasn’t been identified yet.

Um so what the hell is that??

Now, this isn’t just a one-off. The same mystery device appears in multiple YouTube ads, including one that centres around Google’s green Pixel lineup. As Android Authority pointed out, this makes it harder to pin this solely on AI-generated content.

Interestingly, the device itself has a compact, long display that seems to borrow some of its interface from the Pixel Watch. However, the proportions resemble a fitness band more than anything.

The most obvious choice, as both commenters on the Reddit thread and Android Authority point out, is the Fitbit Charge 7. Looking at the Google Store, the device bears some resemblance to both the Google Fitbit Charge 6 and the Google Fitbit Inspire 3, so it could be a redesign of either model.

Another possibility is that Google could be considering a new Pixel-branded fitness tracker. The ads appear to show the device alongside Pixel-branded phones and watches, and it does look more like a Pixel-branded fitness watch than anything else.

However, for now, what this exact device is will be unanswered for a bit. Google hasn’t officially announced anything about it, and the ads don’t provide a product name or details. I doubt Google will come out and explain exactly what this is, but it could be a sneak peek at the next line of fitness-tracking devices. Or not; that is also a possibility.
