Counter-Strike

Counter-Strike, one of the most popular first person shooters of all time, is now playable on Android devices after a lifetime of PC exclusivity.

And not just any version the historic mod, but the much-loved 1.6 iteration to boot — otherwise known as the version of CS some still consider the pinnacle of the now more than 15 year old Half Life mod. It even comes complete with touchscreen controls.

Perhaps more impressive is the fact is the game the was ported to Android by one person, Alibek Omarov.

To get the game up on running on your own device, you’ll need a Steam account and copy of Counter Strike 1.6 linked to it. Full instructions on how to install the mod can be found on the Omarov’s GitHub page.
