Microsoft Devices announced today that it is bringing its low-cost Lumia 435 handset to Canada with Telus and Koodo starting today.
Debuting for $90 outright, the device features a 4-inch WVGA 800×480 pixel display, a 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon 200 chip, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage (expandable via microSD), a 2MP rear camera, a VGA front-facing camera, a removable 1560mAh battery, HSPA+ speeds up to 42Mbps, and Windows Phone 8.1 on board, upgradable to Windows 10.
Such a spec sheet would assume a certain target demographic, and Microsoft is working with Koodo and Telus to focus on customers upgrading from a feature phone to their first smartphone, as well as customers looking for a prepaid device that can be paired with a low-cost monthly plan.
We’ll have a full review of the Lumia 435, as well as details on colour selection (white, black, green or orange) shortly.
