TELUS eliminates $0.60 incoming text fee while roaming

Roaming has been a hot topic of late. While the government is taking steps to assist Canadians by regulating the cost of domestic and international roaming, the carriers have been busy staying competitive with their roaming packages.

TELUS, “as a result of customer feedback,” has decided eliminate the $0.60 fee for each incoming text messages when traveling outside of Canada. This is effective immediately, but picture and video messages (MMS) are not included. TELUS noted in an email to us that this move will ensure customers will “feel more comfortable keeping their phones on while they travel abroad.”
