Facebook is getting rid of ‘Messenger.com’ and desktop app

You'll have until April 2026 before saying goodbye to Messenger.com

I’m not a big fan of using Facebook. The website feels pretty horrible in today’s current climate, with racism, homophobia, transphobia, and so much more; however, I still use Facebook Messenger. Thankfully, I’ve been able to avoid the website and use ‘Messenger.com,’ well, until recently.

Starting April 2026, messenger.com will no longer be available for messaging.

The Messenger desktop app will also no longer be available. After Messenger.com goes away, you’ll be automatically redirected to use facebook.com/messages or the Messenger mobile app. If you don’t have a Facebook account, you can continue your conversations on the Messenger mobile app.

You can download the Facebook Messenger app on Android and iOS.

Also, isn’t it weird that ‘Messenger’ doesn’t have the letter ‘a’?
