How to watch the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics in Canada

The Games take place from Feb. 4 to 22, with the opening ceremony happening on the 6th

Milano Cortina 2026 Olympics

The 2026 Winter Olympics are finally here!

Officially known as the XXV Olympic Winter Games, the Games are taking place in two Italian cities this year: Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, from Feb. 6 to Feb. 22, where approximately 2,900 athletes will compete for gold.

A total of 207 Canadians have been selected to take part in the games, and this is the first time the number of Canadian athletes in Women’s events will exceed those competing in Men’s events.

Fun fact: This will be the first time since 2006 that Italy has hosted the Olympics, and the first time since the Alpine ski resort of Cortina hosted Olympic events in 1956. Interestingly, the Milano/Cortina bid narrowly beat a late bid from Stockholm at the IOC’s 134th session in 2019.

With that in mind, here is how you could watch the games in action:

Canada’s national public broadcaster, CBC/Radio-Canada, holds the broadcast rights, while TSN and Sportsnet will also hold rights, with talent from both networks contributing to the coverage.

If you want to subscribe to TSN+ to catch the Olympics (alongside other sporting events happening around the same time), the streaming service is available for only $8/mo. For the best value, bundle Crave and TSN. Essentially, you can pair TSN with the Standard With Ads package for $26.99/mo, or the Premium package for $32.99/mo.

If you prefer Rogers, Sportsnet+ is also a solid option for catching all the events. The Standard package is $29.99/mo, and Premium is $42.99/mo. Similar to TSN, Sportsnet also offers a bundle package with CityTV+ for only $31.99

If you have a cable subscription, CBC’s TV channels are available throughout Canada and are a must-carry station for providers. Regardless of your provider (Bell, Rogers, Shaw, etc.) or package, you can tune in to CBC to watch Canada compete. CBC’s French-language Ici Radio-Canada will also carry all of the games in French.

Alternatively, if you don’t have cable, you can livestream the 2026 Winter Olympic Games for free on CBC Gem, the CBC Olympics website, and the dedicated mobile apps.

CBC Gem also offers a dedicated app for smart TVs and streaming devices, providing a larger-screen experience.

The mobile apps can be found here:

As a small note: while CBC Gem is free and allows you to watch the Winter Olympics at no additional cost, it does include ads. You can subscribe to CBC Gem Premium to reduce the number of ads you see, but it costs about $5.99/mo. According to the CBC Gem website, you get a seven-day free trial before the subscription price kicks in, which is technically half of what it was at the last Winter Olympics in 2022.
