Meta has indefinitely delayed the international launch of the Ray-Ban Display.
The smart glasses debuted in the U.S. in September with an expansion planned for early 2026 in Canada, the UK, France and Italy. In a blog post about its larger suite of CES news, Meta attributed the delay to “unprecedented demand and limited inventory” for the AI glasses that have resulted in product waitlists that “extend well into 2026.” Therefore, the company says it will “continue to focus on fulfilling orders in the US while we re-evaluate our approach to international availability.”
In other words, there’s no timeframe now for when Canadians can expect the Ray-Ban Display. We also still don’t know official Canadian pricing, but for context, the U.S. price is $799, which is roughly C$1,100.
We got to try the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses at Meta Connect last year and were pretty impressed with its integrated display. Using a neural wristband accessory, the device can track your movements without the need to touch the glasses or your phone. It’s sort of like Tony Stark making gestures with his supercomputers.
That said, it should be noted that the Ray-Ban Display isn’t the AR-powered Orion prototype that Meta has previously shown off. At last year’s Connect, the company reiterated that it’s still working on a consumer version of these glasses, although no release window was provided.
While these more advanced Meta glasses aren’t yet available in Canada, consumers can still buy the other models that the company launched last year. On the more entry-level side, there’s the $519 Meta Ray-Ban (Gen 2), while those who are more into sports can get the Oakley Vanguard (starting at $679).
