Google launched the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style in the U.S. back in February, only revealing that the Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches would eventually make their way to Canada, though an official release date has still not been revealed.
The LG Watch Style has been listed on Google’s online store in Canada for the last few months, but those interested in the wearable haven’t been able to purchase it. Now, however, it’s possible to join a waiting list that will notify you when the device goes on sale. It’s unclear if Google also plans to add the LTE-capable LG Watch Sport to the Canadian Google Store as well in the near future.
There’s still no word, however, on when the Watch Style will actually be released. That said, if a waiting list has been created, it’s likely that those interested in the Style will be able to get their hands on it soon.
In the U.S. the Watch Style is priced at $249 USD (approximately $331 CAD) and the Sport is priced at $349 USD (approximately $464 CAD).
The LG Watch Style is equipped with a 1.2-inch P-OLED display that features a resolution of 260 x 360 pixels. It also features a Snapdragon 2100, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, 240mAh battery and an IP67 rating. The watch is sold in Silver, Titanium and Rose Gold variants and includes Android Wear 2.0 support.
The other recently released Android 2.0 wearable, the LG Watch Sport, features a 480 x 480 pixel P-OLED display, Snapdragon 2100, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, 430mAh battery and an IP68 rating.
Android Wear 2.0 is a significant overhaul of Google’s wearable operating system and is set to roll out to a number of Android Wear devices in the near future. It adds a redesigned interface, places an emphasis on standalone apps and features independent cellular connectivity.
