Google demonstrated several impressive virtual reality experiences with the launch of its Daydream VR platform at its Pixel keynote on October 4th.
Perhaps the most exciting of these was the nod to the Potterheads of the world. Daydream VR will feature a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them app and virtual reality experience
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is a Warner Brothers film based on what’s perhaps the world’s most iconic series, J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter.
The experience requires the use of Google’s recently announced headset, the Google Daydream View, which will be available in November for $79 USD. The View will work with the Pixel and the Pixel XL.
The feature will allow users to play as a wizard, wave a wand, cast spells and levitate. Google has more than 50 apps coming to Daydream VR by the end of the year as well as integrations with additional smartphones in the near future.
