While the stars of the Microsoft’s keynote today were its new flagship phones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, Panos Panay, corporate vice president for Surface Computing, also quietly announced the entry-level Lumia 550.
According to Microsoft, the Lumia 550 is the perfect “introduction to Lumia.” As for specs, the Lumia 550 features a 1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, a LTE radio, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 5-inch 720 x 1280 HD display with 294 ppi pixel density, 5 megapixel main camera, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, 8GB or storage and a 1,905 mAh battery.
This Windows 10 powered device will be available in December for an incredibly affordable $139 USD. Unfortunately, there are no details on Canadian pricing or a release date, but we’ll endeavour to find out what we can as soon as possible.
