With the first day of IFA coming to a close, Lenovo announced its new line of Yoga Android tablets.
Leading the pack is the new Yoga Tab 3 Pro. Featuring a smaller screen than its predecessor (and a design that wasn’t approved by Ashton Kutcher), this 10-inch tablet features a 2560×1600 display, good for a pixel density of 299 pixel per inch; an Atom x5-Z8500 processor; 13 megapixel/5 megapixel rear and front-facing cameras; 2GB of RAM; and 16GB/32GB of internal storage.
The Yoga Tab Pro’s signature Pico project has been upgraded. It’s now able to project a 70-inch image (up from the 50-inch image of the Yoga Tab 2 Pro). Lenovo has also added four JBL speakers to the front of the device. A 10,200mAh battery is supposed to allow the Pro to be used for around 18 hours on a single charge.
Specs wise, the new 8-inch and 10-inch Yoga 3 Tab models are a downgrade from the Yoga 2 Tab. Both models have 1280×800 displays (as opposed to the 1080p displays of last year’s models) and non Atom chips, meaning there’s no Windows version this time around. Camera placement has also changed: the camera is located on the Yoga Tab’s signature hinge, allowing it to be easily rotated.
Lenovo has yet to release details on Canadian pricing, so we’ve reached out to them to find out that vital piece of information. We’ll update this post once we hear back from Lenovo.
