Another image of Amazon’s rumoured smartphone leaks online

The rendering looks decent actually, 4.7″ is a good size too.

    • KrispyInTO

4.7 inches but big bezels. The G2 is probably the same size.

    • Garrett Cooper

Fair enough. I just want a high end phone at the 4.3-4.5″ size. The Z1 compact could have been it but not available here, and the water proofing ads to the bulk.

    • skrug

You can get the Xperia Z1 compact (unlock) at nicx for $540, it was on sale for $460 a week or two ago.

The general shape of the phone looks like an Apple lawsuit waiting to happen.

    • Christopher Robert

yeah Apple loves to claim that a rectangle with rounded corners is one of the many things they “invented” “first”.

    • Anon-e-mouse

Yeah, the front of that phone looks dangerously close to an iPhone, with the exception of the oval button which dangerously looks like a Galaxy S5.

    • Lakh Jhajj

Amazon has a licensing deal with Apple. So they r covered just like HTC.

    • Ali F.

Yes, it is rectangle, and Apple invented the rectangle shape!

I don’t think Amazon will launch this phone in Canada in the beginning. That’s what they did when they launched their Fire Tablets, Amazon launched the 2 generation of Kindle Fire Tablet in Canada and honestly without Amazon Prime Video available to us Canadians that tablet was a no go. So if Amazon wants any success with this phone in Canada or anywhere else in the world Amazon needs to offer some sort if Prime Video with it. And make Amazon Prime and other Amazon services available to us Canadians.

    That thickness though….Lol

  • bronbron

junk status. like every other phone out there

  • Bri Bru

    Whoa Nexus 4 + iPhone 5!!

  • bronbron

    is this bb10?

  • smokinjoe

Interesting picture. Half iPhone and half nexus 4.

    • Ali F.

It should be called NexuPhone mule

  • Merags

For me personally, any forked android phone (and therefore without google apps/play services) is DOA.

    • It’s Me

meh. They are selling more Android tablets on their forked OS that any other Android vendors, so they have a shot. That plus the rumours of sponsored data plans (in the US) are another reason not to expect them to fail so easily. Amazon gets off on selling these devices at cost/loss in order to recoup it on the backend. It’s worked for them so far.

  • WatDah

No offense, but if you read that much into rumors, it’s a fail on your end.

  • Midknightsun

Why bother Amazon? You’re very late to the party.

  • Usaamah

Looks like a cross between the iPhone 4 and Nexus 4
