Huawei’s 7-inch MediaPad X1 phablet leaks before MWC unveiling

Think Huawei is finished with its phablet dreams? My friends, they are just getting started.

What looks like a certainty for a Mobile World Congress announcement next week, Huawei’s MediaPad X1 combines a 7-inch tablet and a phone into a confusing hybrid of sorts. With a 7-inch 1920×1200 pixel display, a 1.6Ghz HiSilicon 910 SoC with an ARM Mali-450 GPU (a step up from Huawei’s previous chip), 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a 6,000mAh battery, the device is certainly capable of excelling in the Android ecosystem. It will also have voice capabilities, for those with Bluetooth headsets (or big hands), and optional LTE in some areas.

The MediaPad X1 also looks to support a Samsung-like window case, which shows the time and other essential information when in position.

The company recently teased an image with four unannounced devices, the MediaPad X1 among them, as well as the midrange Ascend G6 smartphone, thanks to @evleaks. It also looks like we’ll see a larger Huawei tablet at the show, along with a new WiFi hotspot.
