Videotron confirms the Galaxy Nexus is “coming soon”

It must be Galaxy Nexus come out day today. Even though we let you know a few weeks ago that Quebec-based Videotron would release the Galaxy Nexus “in the new year”, today the regional carrier has officially stated it’s “coming soon”. No other information about timing or prices, but they are quick to highlight that users will “Experience high definition like never before!”.

  2. Nice banner to advertise the Galaxy Nexus! At least it will be compatible with WIND and Mobilicity. i’m not sure how long Mobilicity will stay around, however. They haven’t expanded beyond the five urban areas yet.

    • Which would mean the maximum subsidy would be 400$. Which would mean that the maximum “subsidy per month” in the event of a contract cancellation would be of 11.11 per month to pay back if you want to go elsewhere with this phone.

      I fail to see how this can be considered a “Bad Thing ™”

      Yes it appears that cellphones prices may look high but consider the monthly fees associated with it: 39.95 with 500mb of data or 69.95 with everything unlimited and 6gb data. You are definately saving on long term and if you need to break your contract for a new phone/activation later on, the price will be very low.

  6. I can now confirme you that the phone will be at 179$ with a 3 year contract and will be released in about 2 weeks :)

    • Yes the phone is more expensive but the condition are lower you need to have a 39.95 plan minimum not a 50-55 like other providers for that kind of smarthphone…. if you look long term de 20$ difference will be back in your pocket after 2 month of service :)

  8. At videotron, ads come out way after the actual release of the phone if we consider the releases from last year.. So 2 weeks would be possible in that case.

  9. if this phone is subsidized at $179 for plans of $40/month or more, wouldn’t it be possible to subscribe to the Infinate Urban Zone Plan ($32.95/month) and add 200MB data ($10/month)?

    i was going to get this phone thru Virgin Mobile, but they only subsidize $200 off the cost of the phone with their Talk & Text + Commitment Free Data plans, which would have made the price of the phone $400 up front on a 3 year contract, but i wanted to wait for Videotron because their data rates are way better than any other carrier.

  11. I have been waiting for the official release from Videotron for three weeks now… I contacted the Customer Support and no official date yet, only the nice banner. I am loosing patience…
