Public Mobile decreases referral program by $5

Public Mobile is a private company and there’s no official word on how many subscribers they have but RBC estimated 25,000 at the end of 2010. Public just came of releasing their BUZZ data device and a $5 Unlimited email plan. One additional feature that Public introduced a few months ago was a referral program that saw $20 be deposited into your account for everyone you bring on. However, seems the winds have slightly changed as the program dollar amount has dropped by $5 and is now $15. First, it’s great they have a referral program in place and Public notes that “Rates and products subject to change”. This is not the biggest issue but we’d like to see it go the opposite way and increase $5 and give more incentive for customers to become ambassadors.

    • Cheap roaming too. 15 cents. I’d say if you only want talk and text go with public. If you want smartphones and a data plan, go with wind or mobi.
