This has been an incredibly long time coming. After many many months and many customers complaining about how frustrating the Rogers website was to navigate through, they’ve officially launched a complete overhaul of their site… and it looks way better.
Check it out here and give a good go around. They have dedicated areas for phones along with a “Featured Phones” section. You can still browse by manufacturer and now by price point, category such as slider, QWERTY, flip etc. There are also sections for the accessories, pre-paid, phone plans and a “App & More” section that might one day grow into their own Rogers AppStore.
The new site looks better with larger images (seems to be the trend these days), easier navigation and much more pleasant to look at. The downside so far is that is still loads incredibly slow.

I was navigating around the website earlier today. My god it was horrible.
SQL errors left and right.
It like they didn’t even have it pass Q.A. test on a staging server before launching the site.
Even now. If you take a look at their phone catalog some of the phone will give you an SQL error for the title and the picture won’t display.
I just checked now and it gave me an Apache Bridge error.
I welcome the new layout but, seriously from one web programmer to another, they need to test their code thoroughly before putting it on the live servers.

Yeah, it’s funny that even though Rogers has a “new” site, it looks like it’s running just as poorly as the first one.
Granted a few glitches can be expected for a brand new site model…but I can’t even get the site to load properly once! I’ve yet to get past the splash page before the entire site bombs and I get an error message instead of wireless products. Not too promising.

It’s loading horribly slow. I was on it yesterday and I kept getting a session timeout error on it. Even the time I spent on it, I didn’t feel like it was any better then the previous one. Still hard to find things and navigate around.
