Apple redesigning iPhone interface around new Siri: iOS 27 leak

We're getting our first good look at the new Siri ahead of WWDC next month

Siri on an iPhone

Bloomberg has revealed our first look at Apple’s long-gestating overhaul of Siri.

Per images shared by the publication in a paywalled article, Siri will live inside the iPhone’s Dynamic Island, and users will be able to wake it by saying “Siri” or holding down the power button. Additionally, swiping down on the iPhone will launch a new Search or Ask interface as well as Siri Suggestions, web searches and more.

Results will be displayed in a rich text card that springs from the Dynamic Island, and swiping down on this will start a chatbot-style conversation within Siri. A dedicated Siri app will also be offered.

For now, all of this functionality is limited to Siri, but Bloomberg reports that Apple is considering adding support for other AI services like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude.

Alongside the Siri revamp, iOS 27 will add new widgets that let you customize the Camera app. As seen in some of the images shown by Bloomberg, these features will include photo editing tools like Extend and Reframe and AI-powered grammar checking.

It should be noted, however, that Bloomberg acknowledges that these designs aren’t final and some things could change. Still, it gives us a general idea of how Apple is approaching the new Siri. In any event, we’ll see more on June 8 during Apple’s WWDC keynote, where the company is expected to fully unveil the new Siri, iOS 27 and other software updates.
