Unlock your iPhone with “Yellowsn0w”

iphoneunlocked

As promised, the iPhone Dev Team released its  0.9.1 beta “yellowsn0w” software that unlocks the Apple iPhone 3G.

It seems there are a few issues that still need to be worked out as some user get things working successfully, while other users from around the world (Kenya, UK, USA, China, Canada, Germany, Australia…) are all hoping on another carrier for about 1 minute, then dropped. If you follow the instructions below (and located here) you can work your way around these issues.

Also, make sure you read the comments on their blog as it updates every few seconds with known issues. Best of luck!

Here is the info from the iPhone Dev Team site:

The iPhone 3G is used all over the world with all sorts of SIM cards, and we almost certainly will see untested and unexpected situations.  If the soft unlock doesn’t work for you on day 1 (literally day 1, of 2009!) then please don’t panic or be impatient.  This is new territory for everyone, so enjoy the ride as much as you can :)
