At the end of its 2025 Unpacked conference, Samsung teased a slender version of its base-line S25. After the event, we learned that it’s called the S25 Edge and while it’s not out yet there are pictures of it at Unpacked.
The S25 Edge looks like a normal phone with two rear cameras but it’s encased at the Samsung event so no one is able to hold it and see if it really feels substantially different than the regular S25. Before the event, it was rumoured that the S25 Edge was around 6mm thin.
It seems like both Apple and Samsung are going to attempt to drum up more sales with thinner phones this year. As of the time of writing, its uncofimred, but there are lots of rumours of an iPhone Air that will be thinner than the iPhone 17. Samsung is apparently attempting the same strategy with the S25 Edge.
Right now, the release strategy for the S25 Edge is murky, but Android Authority reports that it is coming to the USA, but there is no mention of Canada. If I had to guess, I’d expect the phone to hit store shelves later this year in the early summer, and unless Samsung is sitting on some substantial battery innovations, I woulnd’t expect it to be that desirable.
