Behold the Samsung Galaxy Folder: An Android-powered flip phone

image_thumb567

There hasn’t been many flip phones released over the past couple years, but Samsung is looking to capitalize on this abolished market. According to a leaked spec sheet, Samsung will come out with a device called the ‘Galaxy Folder,’ model number SHV-E400K, and it packs a dual-AMOLED displays at 3.67-inches, 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB RAM, front and rear-facing cameras, 1820mAh battery, runs ‘the latest’ version of Android, and is LTE-enabled.

There’s no word on if the Folder will come to Canada – perhaps it might as several carriers have released entry-level flip phones recently (Doro PhoneEasy 520x, PhoneEasy 620, LG A341). This might be a solid addition for those looking for a clamshell with LTE connectivity.

Update: Here are pictures of the Galaxy Folder. It’s real. According to a post on TechKiddy, the Galaxy Folder sports a 3.7-inch dual-display flip (800 x 480 resolution), LTE-enabled, 1.7Ghz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB RAM and a 1820mAh battery. Decent specs for this Android Jelly Bean (4.2.2) clamshell. No word if this gem will come to Canada, but it’ll certainly make it to the Korean market.
