Facebook revealed its Q2 2013 earnings yesterday, and while we’re not too concerned with its financial health — $1.81 billion in revenue and $333 million net income — there were a few areas in which the company impressed us.
CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed there are now 819 million mobile users per month (MAUs), with 469 million checking their smartphones or tablets every day. These numbers represent enormous growth points, some 50% higher than the same time last year and nearly 60 million more than last quarter.
He also referred to Facebook Home as a “seed we’re planting,” referring to its experimental nature on Android as a launcher replacement, and a way for the company to integrate social networking with great design.
