BBM for All (Download these BBM display pictures)

BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is expanding past BlackBerry devices and heading towards the hands of iPhone and Android users. During BlackBerry Live a couple weeks ago Thorsten Heins, BlackBerry CEO, said that the popular messaging service will be available this summer and “support iPhones running iOS 6 or higher and Android devices running Ice Cream Sandwich or higher.” The app will be free and is “subject to approval by Google Play and the Apple App Store.”

BlackBerry now wants their 60 million plus loyal BBM users to help spread the good word that BBM is coming to other platforms. A couple new display gifs have been created – “BBM for All” and “BBM is coming soon to iOS and Android” – that urges BBM addicts to download and set these as their BBM or social network avatar to help hype up the pending app.

BlackBerry is currently seeing over 10 billion BBM messages sent each day. With the adoption of Android and iOS users (which is currently seeing 2 billion iMessages sent per day) this would certainly position BBM as a dominant messaging app within the industry.

Time will tell. People will first have to download the app.
For now… spread thy BBM message.
