Spotted at CES: unannounced LG Optimus LTE LU8300 tablet

We were at the LG booth today and came across the yet-unannounced LG Optimus LTE tablet. The tab looks to be around 10-inches, and is running Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb at the moment with a custom overlay that resembles what Samsung did with TouchWIZ for Android tablets.

According to the About screen, the device runs the well-worn Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 chipset (probably running at 1.5Ghz) with the MDM9600 baseband, making it very similar to the just-reviewed Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.

There is a permanent “dock” on the bottom that slides up with a customizable array of apps, and the tablet functions as a remote control for your LG TV. There is also the option to connect it to one of the new WiFi-enabled Smart TVs and mirror what you are watching on your TV to the tablet. Even better, you can stream a second channel to your tablet while watching something on the TV.

I wasn’t able to hold the device since it was chained down, nor could I see the types of ports it had, but it looks to have a bright 1280×800 resolution IPS display, and even though it was running Honeycomb and not Ice Cream Sandwich it performed quite well.

No details about launch dates or availability, but we’ll give you more as we get it.

Check after the break for more pics.
