Public Mobile CFO confirms sub-$200 Android devices launching “around the end of this month”

At the Scotia Capital Telecom & Tech 2012 Conference today Jim Hardy, CFO of Public Mobile, said their was some “leakage” in the press about their subscriber numbers – which has now topped the 150,000 mark. In addition, he also confirmed that they’ve “actually rolled out a 3G network. It’s completed, it’s in testing now. We’ll be launching Android phones on that 3G network about around the end of this month, at price points that are sub $200 for unsubsidized phones”.

As to which Android devices, this is completely unconfirmed but we’re hearing it could be the ZTE Blade and the ZTE Warp. Again, unconfirmed but Android devices on Public Mobile are only a few weeks away.
