Bell to release the rugged flip Kyocera DuraXE

As the saying goes, “everything old is new again.”

It’s not just Apple who is repackaging smartphones with improved technical specs. Last week, Wind Mobile launched a candy bar phone called the PCD Z219. We have now learned that Bell will be making space in its stores for the rugged Kyocera DuraXE.

This DuraXE is a flip phone that will officially launch on March 31st and resembles the Motorola Brute of days past. Packed into this LTE-enabled PTT (Push-to-talk) device is a 1.1GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. In addition, the DuraXE features a glorious 2.6-inch 320×240 pixel display, 5 megapixel camera, 8GB internal memory and can hold up to 32GB with a microSD card, 1500mAh battery, and is certified dustproof and waterproof.

The Kyocera DuraXE is actually a solid purchase for those who work in the field. Perhaps we will review it and put it through a similar test like we did with the Brute (video below).
