It was only about a week ago that we wrote that the Samsung Omnia was making its way over to SaskTel. For those who want to get this great touchscreen device you can make your way over to your local SaskTel store.

This is available on the following Voice and Data price plans: 3-year contract is $149.00;  2-year contract is $357.00; 1-year contract is $457.00 and monthly or outright is $607.00.  As usual a $25.00 one-time activation fee applies to all new customers  and a “service fee” will be charged to current customers who upgrade their device.

Similar to the Bell and TELUS release, the Samsung OMNIA weighs in at 125 grams with overall dimensions of 112 x 56.9 x 12.5mm. This has a 3.2 inch touchscreen (240 x 400 pixels with an accelerometer) and comes loaded with Windows Mobile 6.1 for all your business needs such as e-mails, contacts, Microsoft Word Power Point and Excel. This also comes loaded with a 5 megapixel camera/video (auto focus, and flash). The Omnia has Samsung’s “Sharepix” that allows you to instantly upload pics to sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Flickr. Regarding memory, this comes with 8GB of internal memory with a capability of holding up to 24GB.

One of the pleasant things about the OMNIA are the inclusion of “widgets”, these make your mobile experience that much more fun as they give you the ability to customize your phone how you like it. The Widgets are basically applications that you drag and drop on to your phones desktop for quick access. These are located on the left hand side of the device and some examples are the FM radio, LiveTV,  Stock info, Weather forecast, Internet (Full HTML Browser), clock, contacts etc.
