PlayStation will air two back-to-back State of Play streams this week.
On Thursday, September 3 at 9 a.m., the company will go live on its YouTube and Twitch channels with a State of Play focused on games from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, including an extended look at Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Revelation at the end. Right after, State of Play Japan will run, focusing on games from Japan and other Asian countries.
PlayStation didn’t mention how long the State of Plays will be, so you’ll likely want to allot a good chunk of time to watch both if interested. The company did clarify, however, that the first State of Play will be in English, while the second will be in Japanese with English subtitles.
Other than Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which is confirmed to release on all platforms sometime in early 2027, it’s unclear what to expect from these State of Plays. In terms of PlayStation Studios, some of the upcoming games include Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Laufey (Feb. 16, 2027), Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet (TBA) and Guerrilla’s Horizon: Hunters Gathering (which was recently reported to have been retooled from a live service title).
