Google’s Pixel 11 series jumps in price compared to predecessor: report

Google will announced the Pixel 11 on August 12

It looks like Google’s Pixel flagship brand isn’t the affordable brand we once knew and loved. According to a report from Dealabs, we’re seeing a more expensive lineup this year, but it starts at 256GB this year, up from 128GB. Google will officially announce the Pixel 11 series on August 12, so we have a little over a month to officially learn if this is true.

The leak also reveals the colour variants for the upcoming phone:

  • Pixel 11 (256GB/512GB): Light Sterling (gray), Midnight Haze (black), Fuchsia (pink), Moss (green)
  • Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL (256GB/512 GB): Light Fog (white), Midnight Haze (black), Dune (pink), Pine (green)
  • Pixel 11 Pro Fold (256GB/512 GB): Midnight Haze (black), Pine (green)
  • Pixel 11 Pro/Pro XL/Pro Fold (1TB): Available only in Midnight Haze (black)

While I’m happy to see the Pixel 11 Pro come in pink again (a couple of years ago, Google had a Rose Quartz 9 Pro), these devices are all getting a bit more expensive. The leak revealed the EU and UK pricing, and while pricing in Canada will be different as companies increase or lower pricing based on region, it’s a good sign of what’s to come.

Here are the prices converted into Canadian pricing:

  • Pixel 11 256GB — $1,619
  • Pixel 11 512GB — $1,830
  • Pixel 11 Pro 256GB — $1,943
  • Pixel 11 Pro 512GB —  $2,154
  • Pixel 11 Pro 1TB — $2,576
  • Pixel 11 Pro XL 256GB — $2,267
  • Pixel 11 Pro XL 512GB — $2.478
  • Pixel 11 Pro XL 1TB — $2,900
  • Pixel 11 Pro Fold 256GB — $3240
  • Pixel 11 Pro Fold 512GB — $3451
  • Pixel 11 Pro Fold 1TB — $3,872

We won’t see this pricing in Canada because it’s pretty insane, but we’re seeing prices 100 euros more than last year. Similarly, we can definitely expect at least a $100-$200 price increase, but not as drastic as above. The Pixel 10 256GB costs $1,229, so seeing the Pixel 11 at $1,619 seems not realistic; however, only time will tell.

With the ongoing RAM shortage, the Pixel 11 won’t be the only series to increase prices, as we’ve already seen the prices of devices increase, like the Xbox Series consoles.
