Chatr is the latest Rogers-owned wireless brand to raise plan prices. As of July 9, the wireless provider’s 4G nationwide data plans have increased in cost by $2 to $5 per month.
Here’s a list of Chatr’s current plans alongside prior pricing:
- $28/3GB (previously $25/3GB)
- $34/10GB (previously $29/10GB)
- $39/60GB (previously $34/60GB)
- $47/80GB (previously $45/80GB)
While prices increased, the plans otherwise remained the same, meaning customers aren’t getting any more for their money. All the plans still include unlimited Canada-wide talk and data speeds of up to 150Mbps.

Notably, Chatr stopped including unlimited texting in its plans back in May. This also remains unchanged, with plans including unlimited incoming and 2,000 outgoing texts. At least these 2,000 outgoing texts will still work for international messaging. Chatr charges an insane $0.70 per message after the 2,000 text allotment.
Customers can also still get between 500MB and 10GB of bonus data by signing up for automatic payments, depending on the plan.
These changes overall make Chatr’s plans worse value, making it challenging to recommend to anyone. Public Mobile, which just made its plans significantly worse, still has better options than Chatr, with the likes of its $25/4GB and $35/15GB plans (though Public’s $40/20GB is arguably worse than Chatr’s $39/60GB — it depends whether you need roaming or not).
Chatr’s plans now closely match pricing from Freedom Mobile, but notably, Freedom’s plans have much better value. For example, Freedom and Chatr both have a $39/60GB plan, but Freedom’s version includes 5G and Canada/U.S./Mexico roaming bundled in (not to mention unlimited texting).
Chatr joins fellow Rogers flanker brand Fido and Rogers itself, which both also raised prices this week.
