Google has announced that Photos users will now be able to star photos to add them to a ‘Favourites’ album. The photos can then be viewed in a folder in Albums.
It’s OK to play favorites. Rolling out this week, tap the ⭐️ button to mark a photo as a favorite. Head to the Albums tab and view all your favorites in one place. pic.twitter.com/eWnSMDKQ72

The feature is rolling out to all users this week.
Additionally, Google also revealed a ‘heart’ button to allow users to like images shared with them by family or friends.

While the favouriting feature is now available, Google says the heart feature is “coming soon.”
Earlier this month, Google also confirmed that it will also add artificial intelligence-suggested image enhancements to Photos, among other features.
Google Photos is available on Android and iOS.
