A mysterious smartphone-shaped flyer arrived in our office last week touting the fact that “something big is coming to Canada.” Now we finally know what that tease was all about.
Sony Canada has revealed that it will launch the 6-inch Xperia XA Ultra at some point this summer in Canada.
The Xperia XA Ultra features an impressive 16 megapixel front-facing camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Android Marshmallow, 6-inch 1080p curved glass display, and a full metal body. While the Xperia XA Ultra is large, Sony notes the phone features a specific navigation mode that allows users to comfortably use it with just one hand.
Other notable technical specs include a 2700 mAh battery that promises a two-day battery life, MediaTek MT6755 64-bit Octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a rear 21.5 megapixel camera.
The Xperia XA Ultra will come in white, graphite black and lime gold. There is no word on Canadian pricing or a carrier partner yet. This device joins the Xperia X Performance, Xperia X and Xperia XA that will be released in the coming months.
