Boxing Week sale sees BlackBerry Priv discounted at several Canadian carriers

BlackBerry Priv

BlackBerry CEO John Chen promised additional Android-powered devices in 2016. While the sales number of the Priv were not disclosed during its recent quarterly earnings, BlackBerry stated in a recent interview that “the next three or four months will tell us whether this is a good strategy. If it’s well received in the market, and there’s a good chance of that, we will still focus on the high-end, probably closer to the mid-range, coming out… in 2016.”

In the meantime, Canadians looking for a deal on the Priv might want to take advantage of the Boxing Week sale — which seems to be the first round of discounts for the Android slider. The no-contract price is still the same at $800 outright, but the 2-year term is discounted at several carriers:

  • Bell: $349.99 on a 2-year contract ($50 savings)
  • SaskTel: $249.99 on a 2-year contract ($150 savings)
  • MTS: $ 279.99 on a 2-year contract ($100 savings)
  • Wind Mobile: As low as $299 with $25/mo WINDtab Boost ($50 savings)
  • Rogers: $399.99 on a 2-year contract (no discount)
  • Telus: $410 on a 2-year contract (no discount)
  • Eastlink: $0.00 with easyTab plus (no discount)

The Priv was released in Canada on November 6th and is currently available in other countries, including the United States, United Kingdon, Germany, Netherlands and Hong Kong.
