Google-owned Nest is holding a press conference on Wednesday, June 17th.
Multiple tech publications are speculating that the maker of the Nest Thermostat may use the event to announce a new product. If it does, it will be the first substantial new product announcement from the company since it was acquired by Google more than a year ago for $3.2 billion.
Unfortunately, the invitation Nest sent out doesn’t include any hint as to what may be announced. However, a recent report from TechCrunch suggests that the company may move into the home audio space. With its recent acquisition of Dropcam, a company that develops WiFi security cameras, it may also announce a home monitoring solution.
We’ll have to until June 17th to see what the company has up its sleeve.
