Samsung to offer 22 premium apps as ‘digital gifts’ to S6 and S6 edge users

Just after Samsung announced the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge, Fleksy announced that users of either phone would get a free Fleksy keyboard via Samsung Galaxy Gifts. Three days later, it has emerged that Fleksy is not the only perk that will be available to S6 and S6 edge users.

SammyHub reports that Samsung has confirmed users of its newest phone will have the option of installing 22 “premium apps or services.” The list contains content apps from the likes of The New York Times and The Economist as well as service apps like Uber, and other popular smartphone apps like PayPal and Shazam. Check the full list below:

  • VSCO
  • Magisto
  • Pac-Man Friends
  • The Hobbit: Kingdoms
  • Dragons of Atlantis: Heirs
  • NYTimes
  • The Economist
  • Kindle for Samsung
  • Audible
  • Workout Trainer
  • Endomondo
  • Uber
  • Keepy
  • PayPal
  • Life360
  • LastPass
  • Shazam
  • Fleksy
  • Evernote
  • Pocket
  • Parallels Access
  • Hancom Office

These apps won’t be installed on your phone but it sounds like Samsung will be offering users some kind of “free gift” upon installation. For example, while Fleksy might be a free keyboard, Uber or PayPal users could get a free coupon. No details on the specific offers that will be available or if these gifts will be available in all 20 launch countries but it’s sure to come up in the marketing as we get closer to launch.
