Samsung released the Galaxy Note back in 2010, which was labelled as one of the first ‘phablets’ to hit the consumers’ hands. This oversized smartphone/tablet sold in the millions and also popularized the stylus for larger devices. Samsung later released the Note II and Note 3 and, coming up in a few months, is the Galaxy Note 4.
A new report from GSMArena suggests that the Note 4 will feature the same-sized 5.7-inch display found on the Note 3, with a significant boost in resolution, at QHD, 1,440 x 2,560 and 515 ppi. The model number of the Note 4 is SM-N910 (known internally as the Muscat) and will have an Exynos SoC.
Previous reports back in January stated that the display of the Note 4 will include Samsung’s three-sided YOUM display. A Samsung exec said they “may use a three-sided display so messages can be read from an angle… we are targeting consumers who want more professional use and tend to be willing to pay more for handsets.”
Three-sided devices are the next big thing.
