HTC has plans to bring Jelly Bean to the One X and One S

The HTC One S and X are available at several Canadian carriers and these device run OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Since their release a couple months back Google has brought out OS 4.1 Jelly Bean. HTC previously stated they are planning to support Jelly Bean “across a variety of our devices” and that they are “reviewing the software to determine our upgrade plans and schedule.” News today for those who do have the One S and One X.

According to a post on Engadget HTC has stated that “We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”

This is certainly good news for HTC One S and X owners, but the report has only singled out Rogers, not all the other carriers such as sub-brand Fido, Bell, Virgin, SaskTel or TELUS. However, you’d hope/expect all carriers to eventually upgrade these devices. Hopefully official statements from carriers will follow. In addition, no exact word on when the upgrade to 4.1 will happen.
