All rumours and pre-order material showed a release of February 18th… but this is a pleasant surprise! TELUS and Motorola have officially released the Android-powered Milestone. This can be yours on the following price plans:
3-year contract: $199.99
2-year contract: $499.99
1-year contract: $549.99
No Contract: $599.99
You can check out our review with the video attached but TELUS describes the Milestone as “Go big with web browsing on the massive 3.7″ touchscreen and multi-touch pinch and zoom. Experience lightning-fast browsing with superior processing speeds. Keep in touch easily with the full keyboard. And do it all with style on the world’s thinnest QWERTY slider. Only from TELUS”. It also seems that they $199.99 is a promo price as the fine print at the bottom says “Available until March 1, 2010, for clients who activate or renew on a 3 year term with a Smartphone voice and data rate plan of $50 or greater”.

What’s with the TELUS Navigator software? I thought Google gave out their navigation software for free on Android v2.0. Telus wants to charge a subscription fee for their crappy nav software, I want the free Google one!

No google nav out of the US as they dont own the maps in other countries and would have to pay a fee to provide turn by turn. They are working on there street view in canada and once that is done we will have our free nav as well.

Bought it through my friends employee discount, got the phone and the media dock for 600 tx in. I feel great, I was upset the price was 599 instead of 549, but with the discount, plus we get a free car mount through Motorola, I can’t ask for more

I called Telus and asked them about getting the deal for a contract renewal, and I received a credit for $90. Funny thing is, I received the credit already and haven’t signed up yet for my three years.
All signs point to Feb 18 still. Called plenty of stores and speaking to Telus, they don’t have them available to ship as of yet.

To people asking about Rogers,
There is NO Reason why any telus HSPA Devices will not work with rogers, fido, bell , vergin or any other GSM/HSPA network (SIM CARD) That uses 850 & 1900 bands
you will just need to get or purchase an unlock code based on the IMEI from your phone:
You can get your IMEI by simply dialing *#61# Then CALL,TALK or SEND
Once you get an Unlock code Just incert a SIM that did Not come from tha provider you purchased your phone from, & power on the device, Your phone will then ask for tha unlock code, enter it – and your ready to go.. most un-used smartphones can configure settings for data on there own, voice, sms etc are normally defaulted from tha sim and no programing is needed.. if you have any issues with data.. you can just call your provider and ask for tha settings..
Moto MileStone supprts Quad band GSM ” 850 & 1900 for NA ” Aswell as 3G 850 & 1900 ((We use 850/1900mhrz in US & Canada – With the exception of wind, mobicity or dave and t-mobile in tha states))So again Yes it will work on Rogers

There is a version of this phone from South America (maybe Brazil I can’t remember) which doesn’t allow you to enter an unlock code.
Using this phone on another network might not be as easy as “just entering the unlock code”.
