Bell shares Black Friday deals on phones, plans and internet

Bell has shared a host of deals on smartphones, data plans and home internet. There are some decent deals listed below, but be aware that usually, the best deals on phone and internet plans will happen on the actual Black Friday weekend at real-life stores.

Two-year device return options

• Samsung Galaxy S24 – $12.50 per month (minimum plan costs $75/100GB)
• Google Pixel 9 – $1 per month (minimum plan costs $75/100GB)
• iPhone 15 – $30 per month (minimum plan costs $75/100GB)

While these plans, especially the Pixel 9 option, are decent, The fact that you must get a $75 plan with them means that you’re not getting that good of a deal over two years.

What we recommend

For most, I’d recommend buying a phone outright, which may be pricey, but since you can use modern phones for 3-4 years or more, it’s worth buying one so you’re not locked into a 2-year device return contract. If you buy a phone yourself, you can also take advantage of bring your own device (BYOD) plans, which will actually save you a lot of money over the time you own your phone.

This isn’t always the case; this Pixel 9 deal is roughly the same cost as buying the phone outright ($849) and getting a $40 plan over two years, however, if you buy the Pixel outright and use it for three or four years, you will get a better deal over time. I also think if you shop hard on Black Friday you will be able to find a decent plan for around $30 per month which widens that gap even further.

• Pixel BYOD over two years: phone costs $849 – $40 Koodo plan with 50GB for two years – total $1,810.
• Bell’s Pixel two-year return: plan – phone costs $24 (over two years) – $75 plan with 100GB for two years – total $1,800 (if you want to own the phone longer than two years, it costs an extra $336).

That said, if you want an iPhone, the paradigm flips a bit.

• iPhone 15 BYOD over two years: phone costs $999 – $40 plan with 50GB – total $1,960.
• Bell iPhone 15 two-year return plan: phone costs $720 (over two years) – $75 plan with 100GB – total $2,520 (plus $307 to own the device outright after two years)

Other Bell deals

In addition, Bell has a $60 BYOD plan that includes 100GB of data and Crave’s basic plan with ads. This will go down to $50 if you can bundle it with a Bell home internet plan.

If you need home internet, Bell’s best plan costs $60 per month but only has 50Mbps upload and download speeds. For reference, I was able to get Bell’s 1.5Gbps plan for $60 per month at a physical Bell store on Black Friday last year.
