Some former Koodo customers reportedly got $15/50GB 4G win-back deal

Telus-owned Koodo reportedly offered some customers a crazy good win-back offer of $15/50GB, though your mileage may vary significantly.

The details come from RedFlagDeals (RFD), spotted by iPhone in Canada. According to user ‘Shopey,’ who first posted about the plan, it doesn’t include any discounts or credits and is for bring-your-own-phone (BYOP) customers only. The plan uses Koodo’s 4G data, which has a speed cap of up to 100Mbps.

The plan also includes 1,250 long-distance minutes to 27 countries, including U.S. and Canada-wide calling and texting. Koodo also waived the $70 connection fee. Other notable details include that Shopey is located in the Atlantic region and this is a win-back offer, so customers need to activate with a phone number that was previously used with Koodo. Finally, some RFD users reported that Koodo reps said the deal would only be around for a day or two. This was on September 20th and 21st, so it might already be too late.

To put this all in perspective, Koodo’s current in-market plans include $54/40GB ($49 after autopay discount) or $59/60GB ($54 after autopay), which are quite a bit more per month to get a similar amount of data.

While the $15/50GB deal seems too good to be true (and some people on RFD said they thought it was a scam), several other RFD users said they were successfully able to get the offer. Some reported that Koodo offered other plans, including $30/60GB and $45/80GB, which, while good, aren’t quite $15/50GB.

Anyway, your mileage may vary with this one, but if you’re looking for a new plan and have been with Koodo, it might be worth calling one of the numbers listed on the RFD post to see if you can get the offer. If you can’t, Black Friday is coming, and wireless providers often have decent deals during the holiday, so it might be worth waiting to see if something similar to this $15/50GB plan shows up.
