BlackBerry Q5 coming to Fido

q5fido
When BlackBerry announced the entry-level BlackBerry Q5 they declared the device would launch “in selected markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia (including the Asia Pacific region), and Latin America.” There was no word on a Canadian release, but we’ve been tipped that this affordable BB10 smartphone will be coming to Fido. According to an internal doc we received reveals that Fido will make the this LTE-enabled Q5 available to their customers sometime in the coming weeks, but you can expect it in the August/September timeframe for back-to-school. No word yet on pricing – probably around the $400 mark.

The Q5 has a 3.1-inch touchscreen display (resolution of 720×720), a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8GB internal storage and a 2,100mAh non-removable battery. The Q5 also has a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.

Check out out quick hands-on of the BlackBerry Q5 here.
We’ll have more info on the Q5 release soon.

(Thanks tipster!)
