Samsung sends invitations for New York City-based Galaxy Note II launch on October 24th

Samsung is throwing a bash in New York City on October 24th to celebrate the launch of the Galaxy Note II. The device, which has already received rave reviews internationally, will be coming to the U.S. and Canada in November, sporting a 5.5-inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED HD display, a 1.6Ghz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB RAM, a 8MP camera, 16-32GB internal storage, and a whopping 3100mAh battery. And, of course, LTE support.

It’s at that time we’ll likely learn release dates and pricing for the device, which has been announced for Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Mobilicity, WIND Mobile, Videotron and Sasktel. We’ll be there live to cover the event, which promises to be informative and, dare we say, fun.

More importantly, the Galaxy Note II is likely going to usher the phablet into the mainstream. While the original Note got a pretty positive reception in Canada and abroad, its size was a bit unwieldy for the average consumer. Samsung took that into account when designing its sequel, making it more svelte and phone-like despite equipping it with a slightly larger screen.

Is the Galaxy Note II your Next Big Thing?
