The last time we heard from Waterloo-based Allerta, the makers of the upcoming inPulse BlackBerry SmartWatch, they stated their product “is almost here” and that it’s in final states of assembly and testing. They recently gave an update as to what they’re up to and taking a look at these images it shows them testing the battery life on the watches… usually a good sign that these will be out the door soon.
The “inPulse Smartwatch” connects wirelessly to your BlackBerry by Bluetooth and alerts you of any incoming messages. Specs have this with a 1.3-inch OLED display, Bluetooth v2.0+EDR, 150 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery, micro-USB port (for charging). Overall dimensions are 51mm x 38mm x 12mm and battery life is expected to last about 4 days. Allerta says this supports BlackBerry smartphone with OS 4.3 and above, no word on if this supports the new BlackBerry 6 OS.
