Samsung resumes Galaxy S5 Lollipop rollout in Canada

Samsung has resumed the rollout of Android 5.0 for the Galaxy S5 after a version released in early March was put on hold due to performance and reliability issues. While many GS5 owners (including us) reported no issues, some were left with devices that wouldn’t boot, or suffered extreme instability.

We’ve received numerous reports that the rollout has resumed across all carriers, and while Samsung is still pushing Android 5.0 — not 5.0.2, which will ship on the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge — all the stability issues have reportedly been cleared up.

Customers who received the first update with new issues will receive a smaller delta OTA with the bug fixes found in the second rollout.
