The fall Apple event will take place on September 9 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT. Invites with the tagline ‘Surprise and shine’ were sent out on Wednesday for the event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park. And of course, there will be a livestream.
September’s event could be one of the biggest ever, with Apple expected to launch the long-rumoured foldable iPhone, which will sport a wide format similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which feels like the next generation of smartphones, I mentioned in my review of the device. However, rumours suggest that when you unfold the device it’ll become like an iPad experience, which is exciting for someone like me who loves the iPhone mini.
We’re also expected to see the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which are rumoured to come in redish/purple colour variants that are sure to stand out like the Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pro devices.
The base iPhone 18 and the second-gen iPhone Air aren’t expected to show up at the event, as rumours suggest they’ll launch alongside the iPhone 18e in early 2027. Lastly, another rumour suggests we’ll see new AirPods with cameras on each earbud.
Apple CEO John Ternus is expected to lead the event as he’s set to take over from CEO Tim Cook on September 1.
