Ford has recalled more than 150,000 vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. In the U.S., more than 134,000 cars are affected, while over 20,000 are impacted in Canada.
First, there’s the 2023 and 2024 models of the Mustang Mach-E. Per Transport Canada, 14,950 of these vehicles are having issues with insecure left and right rear quarter window glass trims. As a result, they could loosen and separate from the vehicle, creating a hazard for other drivers on the road.
Ford says it will notify Mach-E drivers by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to be inspected and, if necessary, have the trims replaced.
In a separate recall, Transport Canada outlined issues with the Ford F-150 and F-250 Super Duty pickups. According to the agency, a software problem affecting 7,362 of these vehicles could result in part of the rear-view camera image being blocked. Per Canadian regulations, vehicles must display the full rear-view image when in reverse gear.
The recall includes F-150 models from 2021, 2022 and 2023, and F-250 Super Duty models from 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Note that the recall only affects vehicles equipped with an 8-inch display and 360-degree cameras.
Regarding these issues, Ford says it will notify owners by email and send a wireless over-the-air software update to affected vehicles. Alternatively, drivers will be able to schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
