Google announced a fix for a bug that caused problems with the back gesture on Pixel phones.
According to users, the back gesture, which involves swiping in from the right or left edges of the display, isn’t as responsive compared to before the update. In other cases, it’s simply not working.
A Google employee on the company’s IssueTracker thread about the problem confirmed that the tech giant is aware of the issue and will roll out a fix in a future update.
However, Google didn’t share details about what is actually causing the issue. The search giant may offer more details about the bug alongside the update that delivers the fix.
Until the update arrives, impacted users can try several temporary fixes, like switching to three-button navigation to avoid gesture navigation entirely, rebooting, or adjusting the gesture sensitivity.
Some users have reported other temporary methods that fix the problem; someone on Google’s IssueTracker reported that using different parts of the finger seems to trigger the faulty back gesture.
