Less than a week after the release of Apple Music, and the news that they are now up to 20 million paying subscribers, Spotify has released an update to their Android app, bumping it to version 3.0.
The update doesn’t bring any massive changes to the service, but it does bring some usability tweaks. Play controls have been moved around to fit a little better on screen, and album artwork is a little smaller to make room. Another nice addition is that of an arrow on the mini player which will allow you to more easily access the main player. It is also more obvious now that swiping to the left or right will allow you to move between songs.
With this and all of the other new additions to Spotify, the competition between streaming music giants will likely only continue to intensify. You can download the update or go get the app on the Google Play store now.
