We’ve been hearing reports that Android 5.0 Lollipop has a charging problem when the language is set to French (Canada) in the Language & Input menu.
Affecting all devices running Lollipop, including the Nexus 4, 5 and 9, the bug appears to cause the SystemUI to bootloop while the device is charging, turning the screen on and off as the software continually crashes and restarts. Removing the device from the charger — wall or USB-based — seems to resolve the issue. Users have reportedly found that changing the system language to English or French (France) resolves the issue as well.
There is an ongoing thread at Google’s Product Forums about it, as well as on XDA-Developers, and a Google employee has acknowledged the issue. A bug tracker is also open for the problem, so hopefully it will be resolved in a forthcoming update.
Is anyone reading MobileSyrup having similar issues?
