Where to get an iPhone 4 today…

Today – officially – the Apple iPhone 4 is available in Canada. Here are the places you can score yourself the device (online or lining up): Rogers, Bell, TELUS, Virgin, Fido locations across the country… plus retail locations such as The Apple Store, WirelessWave, TBooth, The Source, Future Shop and Best Buy. Most likely you can soon get this on eBay and Craigslist too.

As for plans… the most popular plan the carriers have thrown together is the $30 6GB/month plan.
32GB is $769.99 no-contract, $269.99 on a 3-year
16GB is $659.99 no-contract, $159.99 on 3-year

Update: We were send a couple pics from the lineup that’s happening in the Toronto Eaton Centre. Apparently there’s over 500 people in line when they opened the mall doors.

  3. Telus better have some sort of HUP or renewing platform for clients already tied down to contracts with them, unlike Bell Customers, who want to renew and get a new iPhone with them, are screwed.

    Bottom line is if Telus doesn;t have some sort of an awesome deal for me to stay with them, Im getting out of Telus and jumping ship to Rogers.

    Mind you I do commend Apple for releasing the phone unlocked. I wish more mobile phone companies would do the same.

  7. Why not Virgin Mobile? …uses the same network as Bell and Telus.
    Actually, just wait next week and buy either Samsung Galaxy S from Bell or HTC Desire from Telus – you don’t have to wear gloves to avoid dropped calls :)

  8. No line at all over at my local Rogers store. They’re opening at 10, I’ll be swinging by to see if I can grab one. If I can’t get one, it’s not the end of the world though. The iPhone 4 isn’t *that* different from my current iPhone 3G that I’ll be horribly heartbroken.

  9. It’s odd that Telus is behind in detail so far, unless they have something better up their sleeves to surprise the other 2 carriers. But I don’t see anything better than the $30/6GB deal, maybe $20/6GB ? I actually won’t need 6GB, so I rather have a $10/2GB coz I still have to pay for voice plan which is another $30, just to keep the whole monthly cost down…

  10. Does anyone know if the no-contract iPhone 4s are also unlocked? I haven’t been able to get a clear answer from Apple or stores like Future Shop

  13. I am honestly surprised that Telus has not come out with ANY new plans/deals for this launch.

    Either they are pathetic or playing it smart. Who knows.

  14. Jordan, my understanding is the only unlocked one you can get is from Apple, anywhere else (BestBuy, Rogers, Bell, etc) contract or no-contract are all locked.

  15. @DanT yup, VERY little stock out there. I got to my local Rogers store 5 minutes after they opened, and they were sold out. Future Shop across the street from my work only got *4*.

  17. Kind of a silly question, but will Bell be selling the iPhone4 at full price? I’m currently on a 3year contract with my Blackberry and want to make e swap over but continue with the same contract.

    Try to purchase an iphone 4 to my wife this morning
    No way to get one
    Go throw several Rogers store opening at 9:00am or 10: am
    THERE IS NO MORE… EACH STORE RECEIVES 4 IPHONE…… YA YA FOUR you read right
    THIS IS A JOKE JUST ME…..
    TRY TO CALL 25 OTHERS STORES INCLUDING BEST BUY, FUTURE SHOP OR OTHERS …… SAME STEVE JOBS SYMPHONIES: NO MORE….
    ONLY APPLE STORE HAVE IT (LIMITED QUANTITY AND THERE IS 200-250 PEOPLES OUTSIDE WAITING FOR 3-4 HOURS
    So this is a new marketing operation from our friend’s jobs I guess…..

  20. why is everyone surprised and upset that there was only like 4 or 5 available per store? It’s been posted in lots of places that this was the case. Apple only shipped in a few of these to all these countries for July 30th release date just to say that they have “officially” come out like the original plan. It will be a a week or 2 before the actual supply arrives.

  22. That’s wierd. The telus store in Park Place Mall Lethbridge had 60 of them. The line up was 8 people. I had no problems getting the phone. Granted Telus doesn’t have the $30 for 6 GB plan but I don’t care.

    It’s mighty pretty though.

  23. Ridiculous how the 3 carriers have *basically* identical iPhone rate plans, with almost no variation. Is this not price-fixing? Where’s the CRTC and the Supreme Court? (it’s an indictable criminal offence under section 45 of the Competition Act – Canada).

    We are being held hostage by the 3 major service providers and any semblance of competition is smoke and mirrors.

    You are treating this like a non-event and have not even ATTEMPTED to retain customers. Nothing on the website until the very last minute – and that amounts to “Out of Stock”.

    Goodbye Telus. I’m switching to a company that has a slightly higher level of business acuity, not to mention customer care.

  26. Yea, Im with Paul S. I was kinda hoping Telus would come out with the 6GB/$30 month data add-on, but not even that. They didn’t come out with anything, not one different monthly plan, or data add-on or HUP, not a single F***IN thing and Im getting pissed off being a Telus member for the past 6 years.

    So, at the end of August, I will either be going to Rogers and getting an iPhone 4, or will go to Bell and get either the Samsung Wave or Samsung Galaxy S. Telus, you have let me down again, and you have just lost another customer.

  27. Wellllll I left Telus today after 7 years of loyal service. Virgin Mobile now has my service. I got 1 of 2 of the iPhones the Virgin booth received :)

  28. We got 11 at the Futureshop I work for in Quebec City and they went out as quick as we could activate them. One kind retired old man was on front of our doors at 5am! Telus has the best deal right now imo for the iphone. Free visual voicemail, evenings and weekends a 6pm, 6gb with all plans over 50$! wow

  29. anyone had issues with the rogers early hardware upgrade to iphone 4??

    apparently there were problems with the system and the early upgrades werent showing up on the system.
